A delegation from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, led by Lin Meijun in collaboration with the China Cuisine Association and other partners, visited China House Milan in Italy on Feb 8 to support the kitchen staff in providing meals for Chinese athletes at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

China House Milan serves as a reception area for the Chinese Olympic team and a key showcase of Chinese culture.

The delegation also participated in the "China Night Sports Light" event, a major cultural exchange that brought together members of the International Olympic Committee, scholars, experts, and the media representatives, serving as an important platform for cross-cultural dialogue.

The Taizhou delegation's mission in Milan was to promote Taizhou cuisine and the culture of harmony. Lin engaged with attendees, sharing Taizhou's unique culinary traditions and cultural heritage, explaining how the city embodies the values of harmony and cultural integration through food, giving international guests a taste of Taizhou's culinary and cultural significance.

Lin said that events such as the Winter Olympic Games and the upcoming UNESCO food exhibition play vital roles in advancing the international profile of Taizhou cuisine and supporting the city's ongoing bid to become a City of Gastronomy.
