Taizhou celebrates Chinese New Year with special events, promotions

Print PrintTaizhou in East China's Zhejiang province has launched its Spring Festival shopping campaign, featuring 25 major promotional events and 260 cultural tourism activities, according to a news conference announced by the municipal government on Feb 12.
The campaign includes exciting activities, such as the "WeChat Online Gift-giving" initiative, enabling consumers to buy local Taizhou products for their friends via WeChat.
The city will also host several themed markets and fairs, aiming for over 300 million yuan ($43 million) in sales.
Taizhou will promote its local cuisine by partnering with influencers and media outlets, aiming to attract over 500,000 domestic and international visitors to experience Taizhou's culinary offerings.
Taizhou will also collaborate with major e-commerce platforms to promote local products like seafood and specialty items, targeting 200 million yuan in sales.
The city will distribute over 100 million yuan in vouchers during the first quarter, aiming to stimulate 3 billion yuan in consumer spending. A major trade-in subsidy program will also be rolled out during the festival.
The city will host 260 cultural tourism events under the theme "Taizhou Flavors, Celebrating Chinese New Year", offering guided tours to scenic spots like Tiantai Mountain and showcasing the city's distinctive charm.
Through these efforts, Taizhou aims to drive economic growth and cultural exchange during the festive season.
