The main event for this year's World Engineering Day took place at Taizhou Vocational and Technical College in East China's Zhejiang province on March 4, with experts, scholars, and representatives from local universities and enterprises gathering to celebrate the seventh edition.

Taizhou is accelerating its development as an innovation hub, fostering tech entrepreneurs, and promoting the training of top engineers, skilled workers, and high-level talent. The city is also actively attracting overseas talent.

Ruan Jiming, chairman of the Taizhou Association for Science and Technology, said that the association is promoting the launch of International Engineering Congress and Engineering Capability Training Centre for Global South to deepen global cooperation in the engineering field.

These initiatives aim to strengthen international cooperation and create platforms for talent development, industry upgrades, and innovation, turning Taizhou into a hub for engineering talent and the application of scientific achievements.

At the event, several agreements were signed between universities, local governments, and enterprises to foster collaboration. Notably, the launch of the AIoT Smart Integration Laboratory marked a significant step in integrating AI with the Internet of Things, advancing Taizhou's development in these fields.

The role of digitalization and AI in empowering manufacturing was a key topic discussed during expert sessions and the "Science Cafe" forum.
