Chinese shooter Yang Yuhao from Huangyan district, Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, claimed his first ISSF World Cup title in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol event in Granada, Spain, on April 11.
The 20-year-old shooter advanced from qualification with 585 points before a difficult start in the final, where he ranked last after the opening series. He recovered steadily in the following rounds, recording consistently high scores and climbing back into contention.
In the final shoot-off, Yang outperformed his opponent to secure victory with a total of 31 hits, equaling the world and world junior records.
Born in 2006, Yang began shooting training in 2018 after being selected at a local sports school in Huangyan. Coaches described him as disciplined and focused, noting his rapid progress and strong commitment to training.
After the win, Yang said he was pleased to secure his first World Cup gold and credited his performance to staying composed under pressure, adding that he will continue training and improving.
This marks Yang's second year competing internationally, following a bronze medal in Argentina last year. His latest victory highlights his steady rise in international shooting and adds another medal for China's shooting team.
