An integrated fishery-solar project in Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has delivered both ecological and economic benefits by combining aquaculture with photovoltaic power generation.

In the coastal waters of Taishan village, fishermen navigated boats between rows of solar panels to feed serrated mud crabs, part of a broader aquaculture system operating beneath the installations. The project covers about 120 hectares of intertidal flats, where species such as crabs, shrimp, mud snails, and clams are cultivated below elevated solar arrays.

The model allows for efficient land and sea use by generating electricity above while supporting aquatic farming below, lowering carbon emissions and promoting sustainable industrial practices.
