Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province has launched a citywide cultural tourism campaign featuring 185 activities across 10 themed sections from April 22 to May 8, aiming to boost consumption during the combined spring school break and May Day holiday.

The campaign offers study tours, food experiences, intangible cultural heritage, and leisure travel. The schedule aligns with the spring break for primary and secondary school students, creating an extended holiday window for families and other visitors.

Key offerings include science-focused study tours, where students can explore natural sites and learn about local biodiversity. Food-related events will highlight local specialties under three categories, with a citywide food week during the May Day holiday from May 1 to 5 and the release of a curated dining map.

Spring flower-viewing routes, youth-oriented travel itineraries, and rural fruit-picking experiences are also planned, covering destinations such as Dacheng Island and Xiaoruo village.

Wellness tourism products centered on tea culture, health preservation, meditation, and mountain retreats will be introduced in Tiantai, Linhai, and Xianju.

The campaign also incorporates industrial tourism, immersive opera performances, and cultural experiences inspired by the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Museums, libraries, and cultural venues across the city will host exhibitions and interactive events.

In addition, the event encourages participation with a range of discounts, including half-price tickets for students and exclusive vouchers for food, attractions, and accommodations.
