Taizhou Port in East China's Zhejiang province has been included in the first batch of designated ports open to foreign fishing vessels involved in fishing-related activities, supporting the development of the regional marine economy.
The designated facility at Taizhou Port is the passenger and ro-ro cargo terminal at Damaiyu Port, which provides direct cross-strait services.
Located along the southeastern coast of Zhejiang, Damaiyu Port benefits from deep-water access and well-developed infrastructure. It plays an important role in regional trade, fishery development, and international exchange. In recent years, Damaiyu Port Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station, Taizhou Customs, and the city's maritime authorities have worked together to improve clearance procedures and inspection efficiency for foreign vessels, creating a more regulated and efficient port environment.
With its inclusion in the list, Damaiyu Port will be authorized to provide services such as berthing, supply, maintenance, and seafood trade services to foreign fishing vessels. This is expected to strengthen international fishery cooperation and expand market opportunities for local enterprises.
