Himbar Nastassia, a Belarusian volunteer, has expanded her public-interest teaching program under the "Enjoy English" initiative to Chengnan town in Wenling, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, delivering interactive English lessons to primary school children.

The "Enjoy English" initiative is part of Wenling's efforts to introduce international education into rural schools, improve language skills, and create a more open cultural environment. It also helps connect rural areas with broader global learning practices.

Nastassia arrived in Wenling in 2013 and joined a local volunteer charity team in 2015, taking part in community services including visits to elderly residents and support for sanitation workers. Drawing on her educational background, she later began volunteer teaching and launched weekly "Enjoy English" classes at a rural cultural venue in Chengnan town in September 2025.

The lessons use cards, toys, and role play to introduce vocabulary and teach daily conversations, helping children use English in simple situations such as shopping and self-introductions. Unlike conventional instruction, the program focuses on participation and confidence-building rather than rote memorization.

Nastassia said she considers Wenling her second home and plans to extend the program to more villages, believing it benefits children both academically and emotionally.
