Taizhou University in East China's Zhejiang province unveiled its San Bernardino Institute of Technology on June 17, marking a new international education partnership with California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). The institute is scheduled to enroll its first cohort of students this fall.

The new institute will offer undergraduate programs in applied chemistry, biological sciences, and environmental ecological engineering. It will operate under a dual-campus model, with students completing their first three years at Taizhou University and their final year at CSUSB.

The three programs combine leading disciplines from the two universities, aiming to provide access to international educational resources and practical training opportunities.

The institute has an initial planned enrollment capacity of 1,080 students. According to John Binkley, vice-provost of CSUSB, the partnership is designed to cultivate graduates with global perspectives, strong professional expertise, and advanced cross-cultural communication skills.

Le Chuanyong, president of Taizhou University, noted that the city is an important manufacturing and pharmaceutical center in the Yangtze River Delta region. The university plans to focus on talent development in life sciences, environmental protection, and related fields, supporting regional industrial upgrading and innovation.
