Taizhou Port in East China's Zhejiang province completed its first full trial of the "single declaration" for imported containers under a multimodal transport framework on July 7, marking its integration into Zhejiang's provincewide multimodal transport system.

Previously, imported goods transferred to Taizhou from other customs areas required companies to repeatedly submit documents and switch between different customs systems. The process often added half a day or more to customs clearance times and increased logistics costs.

The new customs supervision model consolidates separate declaration procedures into a unified process, allowing companies to submit one declaration for the entire transport process and enabling standardized coordination across customs areas.

During the test, the first shipment completed declaration, review, and release procedures smoothly, with stable system responses and data exchanges. Officers at Taizhou Port said the new system would reduce repeated verification work and help companies avoid dealing with different customs requirements.

Taizhou Port has already improved sea-land transport channels and port operations. The successful test addresses a lingering challenge in cross-customs coordination and is expected to reduce logistics costs for foreign trade companies in southeastern Zhejiang.

Taizhou Port will next advance the regular operation of the "single declaration" model, focusing on major import container routes while improving port services and expanding application areas to benefit more companies.
