Taizhou's motorcycle industry maintained strong export growth in the first half of this year, with internal combustion motorcycle exports totaling 3.92 billion yuan ($579.77 million), up 13.7 percent year-on-year.

The growth has been driven by continuous technological innovation and the city's well-established manufacturing ecosystem.

Jinlang Science and Technology, located in Luqiao district, invests more than 40 million yuan annually in research and development, primarily on engine upgrades and safety technologies. Its products are now sold in more than 30 countries and regions.

Taizhou's competitive edge also stems from its integrated supply chain. Luqiao hosts 97 major motorcycle manufacturers and benefits from robust mold-making and plastics industries, facilitating seamless production of complete vehicles and parts.

Meanwhile, Taizhou manufacturers are deepening their overseas foothold by building assembly facilities and service networks closer to customers. Wangye Motorcycle, based in Huangyan district, has established assembly plants and warehouses in Indonesia and Vietnam and has deployed technical and after-sales teams abroad. The company exported more than 50,000 motorcycles in the first six months of the year, with orders scheduled through November.

Taizhou Customs has supported exporters by providing guidance on preferential trade policies under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), helping companies reduce costs and expand into international markets.
