The main venue for the 10th National Beach Cleanup Campaign on Sept 5 was Wenling, a county-level city in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, with parallel main venues in Weifang, and Shenzhen. The initiative, now in its 10th year, has covered coastal areas across China and attracted nearly 100,000 volunteers, becoming a well-known public welfare program in natural resource conservation.

More than 500 volunteers and 80 parent-child groups took part in a beach cleanup at Dongxia Beach, collecting and sorting coastal waste along a 2-kilometer stretch of shoreline. The event also featured marine science activities and fishing culture experiences, giving participants a chance to learn about marine conservation through hands-on work.

Over the past 13 years, Wenling has promoted marine conservation and introduced a model that combines beach and mountain cleanups, mobilizing more than 100,000 participants for over 4,000 public welfare activities, collecting 1.25 million kilograms of waste, and developing a distinctive model for youth participation in marine governance.
