Zhejiang Ningxinfa Agricultural Development's intelligent eel farming center in Baixi village, Sanmen county, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, started operating in March. Its first batch of 1 million eel fry are expected to hit the market by the end of this month, as mid-September is the prime window for eel harvest and shipment.

The facility adopts a factory-style, eco-friendly farming model equipped with a recirculating aquaculture system and AI monitoring to precisely control rearing conditions. Microbial water purification supports antibiotic-free farming, water recirculating and zero wastewater discharge. It also shortens the farming cycle to six months and elevates eel quality.

The company plans to develop a complete eel industrial chain targeting high-end domestic and international markets. The project complements Sanmen's traditional seafood farming, diversifying the county's aquaculture industry and accelerating its transformation and upgrading.
