In recent years, Jiaojiang District of Taizhou City has been developing its large yellow croaker industry by establishing standards for the geographical indication product, expanding aquaculture farms, promoting the integration of fishery and tourism, and developing related tourist attractions.

Jiaojiang currently has eight large yellow croaker farms covering about 4,900 mu (about 327 hectares). In 2025, the district's annual output of Dachen large yellow croaker exceeded 10,000 tonnes, while the annual output value of the entire industrial chain reached 1.1 billion yuan (about 164.2 million U.S. dollars).
