Wuzhen innovation corridor fuels high-tech development

The 28-kilometer Wuzhen Dadao innovation corridor in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, is emerging as a key hub for technological development, attracting more than 60 percent of the city's high-level talent and over half of its high-tech enterprises.
By the end of 2025, the corridor had gathered 334 high-tech enterprises and supported R&D investment of 44.61 billion yuan ($6.61 billion) from industrial enterprises above designated size — enterprises with annual revenue of at least 20 million yuan.
A number of innovation platforms, including Wuzhen Laboratory and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Tongxiang Advanced Institute, have been established along the corridor to link research, technology development, and commercialization.
Wuzhen Laboratory, jointly built by the local government, Tsinghua University's School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang, provides testing, analysis, and technical services for enterprises. Its platform has served more than 260 organizations.
To improve collaboration between research institutions and companies, Tongxiang has launched a "research and innovation consortium" led by Wuzhen Laboratory. The consortium brings together research institutes and enterprises to address industrial challenges, with more than 80 technical problems solved through collaborative efforts.
The corridor has also strengthened talent support through housing, innovation services, and industry-education programs. More than 4,200 apartments for talent have been built, while companies and universities cooperate to train skilled workers and promote technology transfer.
Backed by talent, platforms, and industrial collaboration, the Wuzhen Dadao innovation corridor is evolving into an integrated ecosystem that connects research, manufacturing, and market applications.
