Zou Miaofu, a 76-year-old villager in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, recently made a list of "Good Zhejiang Residents", local media reported on April 8.

The list includes 22 individuals and teams that have made significant contributions to the fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia and the recovery of local production and daily life.

During the critical period of the epidemic, Zou volunteered to deliver meals to watchkeepers in nearby Zhenzikeng village.

Zou and his wife begin preparing the day's lunch at nine o'clock in the morning, making sure to bundle the food up tightly so that the watchkeepers can enjoy a hot meal.

They then wasted no time delivering the meals. The couple lives on a mountainside and had to traverse a narrow five-kilometer path before arriving at the checkpoint – no easy feat for people of their age, especially when carrying more than 10 kilograms of food.

Inspired by Zou, the village organized a volunteer team consisting of more than 30 villagers to prepare meals for watchkeepers at nearby checkpoints.

Zou believed that if everyone worked together, China would triumph over the epidemic.
