Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province successfully helped Wushi, a State-designated poverty-stricken county in the south of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, to move out of poverty, local media reported Sept 10.

Additionally, five poverty-stricken counties in Mianyang, Sichuan province, including Beichuan and Pingwu counties, also got rid of the title of poverty-stricken county this year since Kecheng district in Quzhou launched a series of poverty alleviation projects in Mianyang.

The places in Sichuan boast excellent natural ecological advantages and excellent quality of agricultural products and Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs, but due to a lack of effective marketing strategies and sales channels, the products can't make their way out of Sichuan.

In response to the above issues, Quzhou devised various methods such as enterprise agency and e-commerce assisted sales, and built a more effective and convenient consumption bridge, thus stimulating the competitiveness of poverty alleviation efforts in Sichuan.

Under the auspices of Longyou county, which is administered by Quzhou and Xuyong county, under the jurisdiction of Luzhou in Sichuan, a bamboo industry expert workstation for east-west cooperation to tackle poverty in the latter county has progressed well since it was established in July 2019.

According to statistics, Quzhou achieved 243 million yuan ($35.5 million) in poverty alleviation in 2019, making a positive contribution to poverty alleviation through consumption.
