Zhefeng New Materials Co Ltd in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, recently established a complete liquid food aseptic packaging base paper production line, ending its long-term dependence on imports in this field.

Zhefeng New Materials Co Ltd is engaged in the production of specialty paper, including medical packaging paper used for the outer packaging of disposable medical surgical masks, label release paper used for express waybills and thin printing paper used for dictionaries.

The barrier properties and shading properties of liquid food aseptic packaging base paper are extremely demanding, so research and development and production were difficult.

The R&D team of the company tried hundreds of times in chemical additive deployment. At key stages, the team spent more than ten hours a day in trial-and-error, according to Shi Junqi, deputy manager of the company.

It took the company a year to produce the pillow packaging base paper in the liquid food aseptic packaging paper and to establish a complete base paper production line. The product also cooperated with Sweden's Tetrapak due to its high cost performance. The company now provides dairy product packaging for many well-known domestic dairy enterprises.

In addition, the fully automatic assembly line has significantly improved the production efficiency of the company. A fully automatic assembly line can make paper at a speed of 800 meters per minute. A total of 280 metric tons of paper can be produced if it works 24 hours a day. Compared with the semi-automatic assembly line in the past, the production capacity has increased by nearly 70 percent.
