Chenghuang Temple was built at the end of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) and rebuilt in the sixth year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1880). In 1982, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Jiangshan and was repaired.

The temple covers an area of more than 600 square meters and is supported by more than 50 large wooden columns. It is equipped with a gate house, hall, hallway, bedrooms, side courtyard and dooryard.

The temple still receives endless streams of pilgrims. Grand temple fairs are held on the 15th day of the fifth and tenth lunar months.

In addition, the village has nearly 2,000 mu (133 hectares) of farmland and abounds with rice, sesame, vegetable oil and sweet potato. Rice cakes, fried sweet potato slices and fried glutinous pudding are popular delicacies in the village.
