Tianchi village: Destination for admiring lotus flowers, ancient architecture

The lotus field in Tianchi village, Hengshan town, Longyou county, Quzhou, has become a popular destination for tourists and photography enthusiasts in summer and autumn.

Tianchi village has been growing lotus for more than 800 years. The lotus seed planting area in the village is 1,280 mu (85.3 hectares).

The best time to admire the lotus in the village is from June to September.

The village is also home to 86 ancient structures, of which 43 are from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and 31 are from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Tourists who like to climb mountains can also visit Tianchi Mountain. There is a dead crater at the top of the mountain, about 600 meters above sea level, forming a natural pool of 300 square meters.

In addition, there are four agritainment venues in the village, where visitors can taste local delicacies such as stewed chicken with lotus seeds, fried lotus root, steamed pork with dried lotus seeds and preserved vegetables, fried egg with lotus leaves, fried lotus flowers and lotus root cake.
