Tantou village in Kaihua county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province has in recent years been leveraging its natural resources to develop tourism in an attempt to achieve common prosperity.

The village has channeled more resources into upgrading its landscape, with a series of facilities including a square, park, and modern agricultural park having been established.

Ding Suwen, who runs an agritainment in the village, said that the improved environment is key to attracting tourists to the village, and she can experience a turnover of up to 3,000 yuan ($419.92) a day during peak seasons.

Authorities have also been exploring the lotus-crayfish integrated farming system and have built a 10-mu (0.67 hectares) standardized blue crayfish farming pond alongside a 100-mu lotus pond. This year, 45,000 Australian freshwater blue crayfish were introduced into the farming pond, resulting in an additional revenue of over 200,000 yuan for the village collective income.

The village is planning to expand its crayfish farming area and develop lobster-themed tourism products, aiming to transform the lotus-crayfish farming pond into a new tourist attraction.

The village also aims to create immersive and interactive experiences that are scene-based and lifestyle-oriented, breathing life into its natural resources, as well as roll out souvenirs such as pork, crayfish, and honey, significantly increasing the added value of agriculture.
