As the Chinese New Year approaches, demand for Changshan county's handmade noodles is reaching its peak.

These noodles are a specialty of Changshan, located in Quzhou, and their preparation techniques were recognized as a city-level intangible cultural heritage item in 2015.

To make the noodles, flour is meticulously mixed with camellia oil, and saltwater is added to the mixture. The dough is then kneaded until it becomes smooth before being air-dried.

The noodles' unique combination of color, shape, aroma, and taste has earned them a strong reputation.

During the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), these exceptional noodles were designated as an imperial gift. They were highly regarded by the imperial court for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
