Over the past few years, Jiangyuan village in Changshan county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province, has been actively harnessing its natural resources to drive common prosperity.

With an 800-year history to build upon, the village has taken a series of proactive measures to preserve its thriving ecological environment and improve quality of life, including upgrading drinking water and waste management facilities.

The village has also channeled more resources into renovating its ancient buildings and ancient street, and has even created a mini park featuring 15 ancient trees where ecological education is carried out regularly.

Furthermore, the village has established a complete edible bamboo industrial chain that covers plantation, production, sales and tourism, with an annual output value of up to 40 million yuan ($5.60 million).
