A glimpse of future villages in Changshan

Four villages in Changshan county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province have been selected as provincial future villages, as announced by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on Jan 6.

These villages represent innovative residential clusters that embrace an eco-friendly and digitally enhanced rural lifestyle, aligning with Quzhou's vision for common prosperity.

The selected villages are Jinyuan village in Dong'an township, Zhalaiwan village in Zigang subdistrict, Fanjia village in Hejia township, and Caoping village in Baishi town.

Jinyuan village is renowned for its rich historical and cultural heritage, having revitalized 21 ancient residential houses to promote rural tourism.

The village hosts a variety of events, including concerts and campfire parties, attracting nearly 120,000 tourists annually.

Zhalaiwan village has established themed parks, parent-child amusement facilities, and upscale accommodations, such as container lodging, making it a popular destination for go-karting, outdoor adventures, and educational tours.

The village welcomes around 30,000 visitors each year.

Fanjia village has dedicated 4,000 mu (266.67 hectares) to an edible bamboo plantation and an orchard featuring green soybeans, white tea, and Hericium erinaceus.

Caoping village's revolutionary cultural sites, including the Paotai Mountain scenic area, ancient post stations, and ancient military camps, serve as major attractions for tourists.
