The groundbreaking ceremony for the high-performance integrated silicon fluoride new material project of Gansu Juhua New Material Co, a subsidiary of Quzhou-based Juhua Group Corporation, was held in Yumen, Gansu province on Jan 28.

The 41-billion-yuan ($5.74 billion) project primarily focuses on new materials containing fluorine, as well as polycrystalline silicon facilities. It encompasses the construction of major production facilities for hydrofluoric acid, fluorine-containing polymers, industrial silicon, and polycrystalline silicon, as well as cogeneration of heat and power, wastewater treatment facilities, industrial solid waste landfills, dedicated railway lines, and marshalling yards, among other supporting ancillary facilities.

The project aims to fully capitalize on the resource endowment, talent, and technological advantages of both Juhua and Yumen. Leveraging Juhua's extensive experience in basic chemical production and operation, technological innovation, and digital transformation, this endeavor holds significant importance for accelerating Juhua's entry into the new energy sector, driving industrial iteration and upgrading, and empowering the economic development of Quzhou.

Established in 1958, Juhua has evolved into a national super-sized chemical conglomerate, boasting the largest advanced manufacturing base for the fluorine chemical industry in the country, and serving as the largest chemical industrial base in Zhejiang province.
