This championship marks the first major weightlifting competition in Asia after the Paris Olympics and serves as a crucial opportunity for athletes to earn qualification points for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Mohammed Jalood, president of the International Weightlifting Federation, said, "This will be a groundbreaking event for the new generation of Asian lifters, and we anticipate new Asian and world records to be set in Jiangshan."

The competition will run from May 9 to 15, with sessions scheduled from 9 am to 12 am, 2 pm to 5 pm, and 7 pm to 9 pm.
