The Lanke World Weiqi Cultural Exhibition Hall and Lanke Weiqi Week were inaugurated on Oct 15 at the Lanke Mountain World Weiqi Park in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, marking the start of the park's trial operations.
Lanke Mountain is famous for the ancient legend of "Wang Zhi meeting immortals and watching weiqi until his axe handle decayed", which is widely known as the symbolic birthplace of weiqi, or Go, culture in Quzhou.
The park's centerpiece, the Lanke World Weiqi Cultural Exhibition Hall, resembles a polished jade disc. The venue serves as both a competition arena and a museum of Go's rich history, accommodating up to 500 spectators.
Visitors can explore stories from Go's past and present, enhanced by digital technology that allows them to play against virtual characters.

The park aims to become a comprehensive Go cultural hub, integrating cultural experiences, competitions, industry development, and tourism.
Themed hotels, culinary experiences, cultural centers, and light shows are planned to expand the park's offerings, according to operator Quzhou Urban Development Group.
A highlight of the Lanke Weiqi Week was the final match of the 3rd Lanke Cup World Weiqi Open Tournament, held on Oct 15.
