Eight doctoral students from seven countries took part in a cultural exchange program in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, from June 26 to 28, diving into the city's rich history and culture.

The program brought together participants from Kazakhstan, Thailand, Egypt, and four other countries under Shanghai International Studies University's New Sinology Plan.

At the Chinese Confucianism Museum, the visitors learned about the history and core principles of Confucianism through artifacts and archival materials. They also tried their hand at traditional ink rubbing, using the technique to imprint auspicious Chinese phrases onto the paper.

Amna Abdelfattah Soliman from Egypt praised the ceremony honoring Confucius for offering a vivid introduction to the traditions and values of Confucian culture.

During the three-day program, the group also visited the Meigao Short Drama Super Factory to learn about China's fast-growing short drama industry, made Shaoyongfeng sesame cakes, a national-level intangible cultural heritage item, explored Lanke Mountain World Weiqi Park, and experienced traditional porcelain making.
