Quzhou player helps China clinch Asian youth table tennis team gold

Chen Yizhou, a 14-year-old player from Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, together with his teammates, has won the boys' U15 team title at the 2026 Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
The tournament is being held from June 28 to July 4 and features leading youth players from across Asia.
China defeated South Korea 3-0 in the U15 boys' team final. Playing the second match, Chen recovered from one game down to defeat Korea's Ma Yeongmin 3-2, earning a crucial point that put China in control of the final.
A native of Jiangshan, a county-level city administered by Quzhou, Chen began playing table tennis at an early age and progressed from local junior competitions to the national youth team. His comeback victory in the final highlighted his composure and determination under pressure.
The team gold marks a milestone in Chen's career and reflects the continued development of youth table tennis in Quzhou.
Chen will next compete in the boys' U15 singles event, representing China later in the championships.
