Wang Huzhen

Wang Huzhen (1897-1989), a Jiaxing native, studied water conservancy in the United States at a young age.
Wang worked for the Ministry of Water Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society, Zhejiang University, and North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power.
He edited the first professional reference book about water conservancy in China, Chinese Engineer Handbook.
Wang also presided over the construction of Fuziling reservoir, the first multiple-arch dam in China, and Meishan reservoir, the highest multiple-arch dam in the world.
