Pu Hua

Pu Hua (1832-1911), born in Jiaxing, was a renowned calligrapher and painter in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). When he was young, he enjoyed making art and forming friendships with kindred spirits.
He settled in Shanghai after learning to paint in Japan and was reputed as one of the four masters of the Shanghai School of painting.
