Jiashan's industrial economy has been steadily growing over the past 10 years, focusing on emerging industries such as digital economy, life and health, new energy and new materials.
The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the county jumped from 13.6 billion yuan ($1.91 billion) in 2012 to 35.5 billion yuan in 2021, with an average annual growth rate of 12.7 percent.
Meanwhile, to improve per-mu industrial added value and tax payments, the Jiashan Economic and Technological Development Zone has replaced inefficient enterprises with highly efficient and innovative ones.
For example, New Shicoh Motor Co Ltd replaced a textile enterprise with low output in the zone, increasing the place's per-mu (0.067 hectares) tax payments from 20,000 yuan to 1.5 million yuan.
In 2021, the output value of New Shicoh Motor Co Ltd reached 750 million yuan, maintaining an annual growth rate of more than 30 percent for many consecutive years.
According to a person in charge of the Jiashan Economic and Technological Development Zone, since 2020 the place has developed nearly 2,500 mu of inefficient land. In the future, it will carry out the renewal of 4,500 mu of inefficient land, further promoting high-quality development.
