German influencer Navina Heyden joined a cultural experience in Xitang ancient town, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, and explored traditional Yueju Opera on July 27.

Organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, the event brought together about 10 visitors from Poland, Russia, Greece, and other countries to experience the region's cultural depth firsthand.

Inside the Gu Xidong Theatre Art Museum, Heyden practiced sleeve movements from The Peony Pavilion under the guidance of Jin Caifang, a professor at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. Heyden also took part in the opera makeup session, and was surprised by the precision required to draw crescent-shaped forehead marks.

The group later visited the Museum of Buttons to make traditional Chinese frog buttons, and sampled local dishes. Later, a boat ride through narrow canals, accompanied by local folk songs, offered glimpses into everyday life in Jiaxing.
