Shenxian Lake in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, has welcomed more than 1 million visits since its opening in October last year, becoming a major draw for tourists from nearby cities including Shanghai and Hangzhou.
Located in Yuanhua town, the lake has become popular for its distinctive natural scenery. Even the summer heat in August has not slowed the flow of travelers seeking its quiet setting and fresh experiences.
In early August, Shenxian Lake Park launched an upgraded night lighting system that transforms the lakeside into a vibrant light display. The installation features multicolored lighting along the fitness trails surrounding the lake, turning the once quiet evening landscape into a vibrant attraction known as the "starry lake fantasy".
The system operates daily from 6 pm to 9 pm, covering the lake's pedestrian routes, fitness pathways, and the elevated "dragon ridge" section. Altogether, about 7 kilometers of trails are now illuminated, providing visitors with a unique nighttime leisure experience.
