Jiaxing firm supplies membrane for world's largest membrane-structured exhibition hall
The Vietnam Exhibition Center, the world's largest single membrane-structured exhibition hall, has recently been completed, using material produced by Zhejiang Huifeng Holding Group Co Ltd in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province.

The company supplied polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane for the project, marking the first time a domestically developed PTFE product has been used for a major overseas building. Huifeng produces about 2,500 square meters of PTFE membrane daily, bringing in more than 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) in sales annually.

Founded as a polyvinyl chloride and decorative film manufacturer, the company turned to PTFE seven years ago to pursue higher-value, environmentally friendly products. Without existing models, its team developed the first PTFE samples in 2019 after 10 months of independent trials. The material has since been used in more than 60 projects worldwide, including venues in Quzhou and Haikou, and has entered markets in the United States, Australia, and Singapore.

The Vietnam project required 140,000 square meters of membrane in just six months, with yarn demand tripling the annual domestic supply. Huifeng partnered with suppliers to resolve bottlenecks and engineered PTFE with improved resistance to humidity and corrosion. After five months of intensive efforts, the final product had a pass rate above 95 percent.
With two national patents, Huifeng now holds about 20 percent of China's PTFE market. Its thin yet strong membranes are seen as benchmarks in high-end material development.
