More than 50 delegates attending the 2025 Asia-Europe Large River Regional Dialogue visited Yanguan ancient town in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 22 during a field visit under the dialogue.
In the morning, the group visited scenic landmarks such as a section of the Grand Canal and Jin Yong Academy. They also witnessed the spectacular tidal bore of the Qiantang River. In the afternoon, participants toured Liangjiadun, a model village known for its rural vitalization and picturesque environment.
Yanguan ancient town boasts a rich water-related cultural heritage, highlighted by both the Grand Canal and the Qiantang River tide — living examples of China's experience in water resource management and protection. Through on-site visits, the delegation gained deeper insights into China's practical efforts in sustainable water governance.
The 2025 Asia-Europe Large River Regional Dialogue focused on fostering mutual learning and development cooperation among civilizations within the Asia-Europe river basins, aiming to jointly explore new opportunities for collaboration.
