The China International Knitting Fair (Spring Edition) kicked off at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai on March 11, featuring 42 sweater enterprises, market vendors, and designer brands from Puyuan town in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, showcasing their products.
The Puyuan Sweater Digital Trade Platform's overseas edition was also launched at the event, unveiling the exclusive brand PlinkX and marking a milestone in Puyuan's sweater industry's global expansion. The name combines "P" for Puyuan, symbolizing the region's connection to the world, and "X" for infinity, representing global reach and inclusivity. The platform aims to offer curated selections tailored to different markets, including Europe, North America, Japan, South Korea, and others.
According to Luo Guoliang, Party secretary of Puyuan town, the platform is a key step in the global expansion of the sweater industry, providing services such as cross-border procurement, quality traceability, and smart supply chain collaboration.
More than 20 local supply chain enterprises have joined the platform, which attracted international buyers to visit Puyuan in January. With the core supply chain now integrated, the first foreign trade orders are expected to be placed by the second quarter of 2026.
Puyuan's local GDP reached 21.93 billion yuan ($3.18 billion) in 2025, a 5.3 percent year-on-year increase, with the sweater industry generating 139.3 billion yuan in transactions, cementing its position as one of China's leading markets for knitted goods.
