International cargo operations at Jiaxing Nanhu Airport in East China's Zhejiang province have continued to gain momentum during the airport's first month of service since its inaugural flight on May 28.

The airport has handled 46 international inbound and outbound flights and processed about 1,154 metric tons of import and export cargo during its first month, with a shipment of textile fabrics and garment accessories on June 28 marking the airport's 18th export cargo shipment since operations began.

The range of exported products has expanded rapidly. While early shipments mainly consisted of traditional light industrial goods such as textile fabrics and garment accessories, the airport is now handling a broader mix of products, including smart device components, small industrial equipment, and cross-border e-commerce parcels. The shift reflects growing demand from regional manufacturers and strengthens the airport's role as an international air cargo hub.

He Yaoqi, general manager of Jiaxing Air Port Development, said existing cargo routes to Dhaka and Budapest have provided a solid foundation for business expansion. The company is working with airlines and other partners to attract more cargo sources and prepare additional international routes, which are expected to further increase freight volumes.
