The 2026 Tongxin Cup Jiaxing-Taiwan Youth Bridge Exchange Tournament opened on July 9 in Haiyan county, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, bringing together young bridge players from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

The event attracted 98 young competitors, a significant increase from last year's inaugural tournament, with players competing at the tables while building friendships.

Student Wu Zimo from Taiwan, who returned to Haiyan for the second time, said bridge has helped him improve his skills and make new friends.

Beyond the competition, participants from Taiwan joined cultural and study tours in Jiaxing, visiting the Nanbei Lake scenic area on July 8 to experience the region's natural scenery and cultural heritage, and exploring areas including downtown Jiaxing and Shendang Ancient Town.

Known as a game of strategy and cooperation, bridge emphasizes teamwork and communication. This year's tournament aimed to provide a platform for young people from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan to learn from each other and strengthen connections through sports and cultural exchanges.
