Smart industries in Wuzhen — a county-level city in Tongxiang, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province — are gaining momentum.

In the first half of this year, Wuzhen's industrial enterprises above designated size — enterprises with annual revenue of at least 20 million yuan ($2.7 million) — generated approximately 9.69 billion yuan, up 46.89 percent year-on-year, with the digital economy accounting for 66 percent of the town's industrial output.

Wuzhen is accelerating development across sectors like intelligent manufacturing, new energy storage, biomedicine, and advanced materials. The town aims to build a smart industry cluster with an annual output value of 10 billion yuan.

One example is LeanX, an intelligent vehicle technology company that relocated its headquarters from Shanghai to Wuzhen. The company chose Wuzhen for its industrial facilities, computing resources, and supportive business services.

Since relocating, the company has built an integrated base for research, testing, and manufacturing. Its electric drive testing equipment has already received orders from automakers, while its robot joint production line has begun mass production.

Wuzhen has also attracted leading robotics companies. Pudu Robotics, which operates in 85 countries and regions, launched its AI-powered floor-cleaning robot PUDU BG1 in April, marking the start of production at its Zhejiang facility.

By the end of June, 16 industrial projects in Wuzhen had entered production. With its growing industrial chains and supportive business environment, the town is strengthening its role as a smart manufacturing hub in the Yangtze River Delta region.
