Wuzhen town and Puyuan Fashion Resort, two ancient towns in Tongxiang, a county-level city in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, received 369,100 inbound tourist visits from January to August this year, up 53.44 percent year-on-year. The city's inbound overnight tourist arrivals rose by 39.28 percent, reflecting robust growth in its international tourism market.

The two towns have attracted large numbers of international visitors through distinctive cultural and tourism activities that offer immersive Jiangnan (the region south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River) experiences. 

Tongxiang has also capitalized on China's visa-free entry policies, gained recognition as a provincial pilot for innovative inbound tourism development, and improved supporting services for international visitors, including bilingual signs, foreign-language guides, and convenient payment options.

The city has introduced innovative services such as "airport terminals at scenic spots" and one-stop luggage services, setting up luggage service outlets throughout the city to improve travel efficiency. Its efforts to upgrade services and advance inbound tourism reform have received provincial and municipal recognition, setting a benchmark for high-quality tourism development.
