Xinhan Intelligence, based in Tongxiang, a county-level city in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, has developed liquid cooling technology to help AI chips tackle problems with overheating during high-performance computing.
As AI chips become more powerful, the company's energy use and heat output continue to rise. AI chip power consumption has increased from 300 watts to 1,200 watts over the past three years, while traditional air cooling is nearing its limits in high-density computing scenarios.
The company's two-phase liquid cooling technology allows coolant to change from liquid to gas when contacting high-temperature chips, absorbing more heat and reducing performance drops caused by overheating. The technology can control the temperature of the hottest points on chips within plus or minus 0.5 C, according to the company.
To overcome challenges including dry-out, gas blockage, and leakage, the company developed a flow sensing and intelligent control system that monitors temperature, flow, and pressure data in real time and adjusts coolant distribution based on computing loads.
The company has established cooperation with multiple customers, with products delivered in batches and verified by leading domestic server manufacturers. Its solutions help reduce energy consumption and cooling costs for AI data centers.
