Huzhou in Zhejiang province has launched a comprehensive emergency response as Typhoon Dolphin approaches, with local authorities focusing on evacuations, risk inspections, emergency response, and public services to ensure the safety of residents.

In Wuxing district, authorities organized the relocation of workers from construction sites, with dedicated vehicles transporting them to shelters. A total of 3,815 flood and typhoon prevention personnel were on duty to monitor key risk areas and implement safety measures.

Nanxun district also moved into emergency response mode, mobilizing 17 teams with 859 personnel. Eighteen volunteers and law enforcement personnel helped a local farmer harvest nearly 1,500 kilograms of fruit within two hours to reduce losses from strong winds and heavy rain. The district also inspected more than 1,065 kilometers of roads and 37 key underpasses.

Deqing county relocated 9,145 people from high-risk areas, including vulnerable residents and construction workers. More than 2,800 flood prevention personnel and over 4,300 officials and emergency workers were deployed, while high-risk mountain and water-related A-level tourist attractions were temporarily closed.

Changxing county and Anji county also strengthened inspections, emergency deployment, and public warnings.

Typhoon Dolphin, the 13th typhoon of the year, made landfall twice in Zhejiang on the evening of Aug 9, bringing strong winds and heavy rain. Huzhou continues to maintain a 24-hour emergency response system and monitor weather changes.
