Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province reached a milestone in innovative development after the HSPark-Phoenix Village Digital Economy Industrial Park in Keqiao district broke ground on Oct 18.

The privately-owned industrial park is a joint venture between Hangzhou-based industrial park operator HSPark Group and local textile manufacturer Phoenix Village.

Its construction area will cover over 200,000 square meters and include factories and office buildings for enterprises engaged in digital economy, smart manufacturing, and fintech.

Keqiao district is seizing opportunities brought about by the integration of the Yangtze River Delta to build itself into a center of innovation with high-tech industries, high-end talent, and most importantly, private companies.

To date, the district has planned 10 privately-owned industrial and entrepreneurship parks which cover over 1.6 million square meters in total and have attracted over 7 billion yuan (about $1.05 billion) in investment.

The HSPark-Phoenix Village Digital Economy Industrial Park is the 7th to begin construction.
