An increasing number of industrial companies in Shangyu district, Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, recently began to resume production following the latest round of COVID-19 outbreak in the district.

According to statistics released on Dec 26, 1,850 companies in the district had recovered their production by then since Dec 22.  Among them, 475 companies are above a designated scale, which usually refer to those with an annual business revenue of exceeding 20 million yuan ($3.14 million).

In order to help companies recover their production capabilities, Shangyu is expected to set aside about 300 million yuan in 2022 to support its companies to mitigate the impacts brought by the epidemic.

Workers who stay in Shangyu for the upcoming Spring Festival will receive 1,000 yuan in subsidies. The local government hopes to decrease the risks of COVID-19 infection by encouraging less cross-city trips.

The district will also launch an online platform to facilitate approval procedures of giving out subsidies to companies in need.

This round of COVD-19 outbreak started from Dec 7, and has currently been subdued.
