Students at the Taoyan Subdistrict Central Primary School in Shaoxing painted their favorite patterns on bags as gifts to their mothers on International Women's Day, which falls on March 8.

Teachers said the activity was designed to encourage students to show their gratitude and love to their mothers as well as cultivate their interests in arts.

The activity was organized by the school's Chinese Young Pioneers organization, the women's organization of Taoyan subdistrict, and the administration committee of Dongjian Lake Wetland Park.
