The Huanjiang Laboratory, a high-level aerospace research institute, was unveiled in the Hangzhou Port Park in Zhuji, a county-level city under the administration of Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Jan 16.

The lab was co-founded by the government of Zhuji, Zhejiang University and Zhejiang University Holding Group Co Ltd and has an area of 5,000 square meters. It is responsible for nurturing skilled workers and conducting scientific research related to the aerospace industry.

It has set up six affiliated research centers dedicated to information technology, intelligent drones, robotics, advanced aircraft and navigation.

The lab is also working to introduce superior firms with potential for future growth and incubate more aerospace firms.
