Three central bureaus and ministries of China recently announced 66 "exemplary cases of non-tangible cultural heritage workshops" for the year 2022, which included Shengzhou bamboo weaving from Shaoxing, Zhejiang province.

Shengzhou bamboo weaving has a complete set of standardized procedures thanks to the efforts of several generations of craftsmen. The workshop has created unique techniques such as bleaching, decorative cords, blue-tire lacquer, anti-corrosion, de-greasing, and animal simulation.

In recent years, the workshop has been striving to find styles that meet modern aesthetics and make products that meet the needs of contemporary life, in an effort to preserve the art form.

The workshop has developed and produced more than 40 tea-related products such as bamboo weaving tea tables, tea trays, and tea storage boxes, as well as more than 30 furniture-related products.

The workshop employs more than 60 people, and more than 20 external workshops have been established in neighboring regions, helping more than 200 people make a living.
