Wen Nuan, Party secretary of Shaoxing, met with Kim Young-jun, consul general of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai, on Aug 30.

China and South Korea have a strong relationship with a long history of people-to-people exchanges and robust economic and trade ties. Shaoxing has established friendly relations with nine cities in South Korea, fostering active exchanges and frequent visits, according to Wen.

Shaoxing is committed to providing high-quality services for South Korean businesses and individuals looking to invest, work in, or visit the city. The hope is to continue collaborating with various sectors in South Korea, enrich the content of collaboration, and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

As the Hangzhou Asian Games draw near, Shaoxing, as the co-host city with the most sporting events, eagerly anticipates the arrival of more visitors from South Korea to experience the sporting extravaganza.

Kim Young-jun expressed his gratitude for the care, support, and assistance that Shaoxing has shown to South Korean enterprises and expatriates working in Shaoxing.

He praised Shaoxing as a historically rich and picturesque water town with outstanding talent and a thriving economy. Shaoxing not only excels in traditional industries such as textiles and chemicals but also in new sectors like advanced materials and integrated circuits, offering ample opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.

With the approach of the Hangzhou Asian Games, in which Shaoxing is hosting the most events, and given the high popularity of these sporting events among South Koreans, Shaoxing's reputation and competitiveness is expected to be further enhanced.
