The Shaoxing Marathon organizing committee officially announced the date of this year's "2023 Shaoxing Marathon" on Sept 4.

The marathon is set to take place on Nov 26, with registration opening at 10:00 am on September 8.

This year's "Shaoxing Marathon" is expected to attract a total of 25,000 participants, comprising 8,000 marathon runners, 10,000 half-marathon enthusiasts, and 7,000 participants for the mini-marathon. The registration window will be open until 5:00 pm on Oct 6.

Participants must be at least 20 years old for the full marathon and 16 for the half-marathon. The mini-marathon has no age restriction, but participants under 18 years old must obtain consent from their legal guardians.

The organizing committee emphasizes the demanding nature of marathons, highlighting the high physical and endurance requirements, as well as associated risks.

This year, the Shaoxing Marathon has made slight adjustments to its course while still preserving its scenic nature. The course offers a unique blend of cultural heritage and landmarks within the ancient city, providing runners with a captivating experience as they pass by historical sites and scenic spots.

With this year's Shaoxing Marathon taking place just one month after the Asian Games, the city has been working hard to improve its transportation and landscapes.
